Impulse control disorder
Impulse control disorder is considered a psychological disorder in which individuals experience some intermittent explosive behavior. Basically, impulse control disorder can lead to “being hot headed.” Often a part of impulse control disorder is kleptomania, pathological gambling, pyromania, trichotillomania, and dermatillomania. In order these are stealing, gambling, fire starting, pulling one’s hair out, and skin picking.

The onset of these disorders is at a rather young age. Some individuals can have an impulse control disorder at the age of 7. Many succumb between the ages of 7 and 15. As you can imagine impulsivity is definitely a key feature of any of the impulse control disorders. Some individuals will suffer obsessive compulsive disorder and have impulse control disorder as a part of their OCD.
