Anemia is when the body has a decreased amount of red blood cells. The body has to have red and white blood cells at a certain level in order to function. There are many reasons why anemia may result. Sometimes anemia is based on a person’s diet. They may not be getting the right nutrients that help promote good cell structure.
Those who have anemia usually have a low oxygen problem. This is due to the fact that the red blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues in the organs. As a result those with anemia can suffer from hypoxia, which means a lack of oxygen. This can lead to death if the body does not receive enough oxygen to the organs.
